New SCA Event Confirmed!
My family and I will be heading out to Ymir 49 in February! Ymir is an SCA event. SCA stands for Society for Creative Anachronism and if you’re into historical events, this is definitely one to go to! SCA events aren’t usually highly advertised like a Renaissance Faire, and they are a bit more historical in content rather than being more focused on performance for the public. At Ymir, my husband (and perhaps my son) will be spending a lot of time on the Rapier Field, fighting solo and in groups, participating in tournaments, and generally enjoying that aspect of the event. As for me, I will be spending most of my time at the Zen Warrior Armory tent helping out with customers, inventory, armor repairs for the fighters, and perhaps spinning wool and naalbinding during my downtime.
