DoTerra OnGuard Cleaner Concentrate Review & Demonstration

Blogs Household Kristen

All in all, I am very impressed with DoTerra’s onGuard Cleaner Concentrate. First, it’s all natural and non-toxic, so no need for “well-ventilated area” or protective gloves when using it. It’s safe to use around kids (even babies!) and pets. Second, it actually CLEANS. No elbow grease required. Even windows and mirrors. Even stuck-on, long neglected gunky messes were cleaned up with ease. Third, it handles EVERYTHING. One bottle of cleaner concentrate will handle cleaning up a staggering number of things: floors, countertops, tubs, showers, sinks, walls, windows, mirrors, spills, even toilets!! Oh, and it handles dishwashing with ease regardless of whether you are using a dishwasher or handwashing. And, it smells GREAT! All in all, this one cleaner concentrate can and has replaced every single cleaner product that I used to use around the house. Every single one. It’s highly concentrated so one bottle actually lasts a surprisingly long time. I made a video of using this cleaner to tackle a deep-cleaning of my stovetop that had been neglected for way too long, so check it out below…

I even use this cleaner to clean out my ferret’s litter box. I use it to clean all my windows and mirrors. I use it in my mop water. I use it for EVERYTHING. Even in the toilet. It seems to somehow dissolve dirt and grime so it just wipes away easily. I have honestly never had to scrub anything that I use this cleaner on (in my house… read on below for the story!) and it has never destroyed or discolored anything that I have used it on, even hand dyed wool. I even use the same dilution ratio for nearly everything:

  • 2 Tablespoons of cleaner in a 16 oz spray bottle
  • 1/2 cup of white vinegar
  • Fill remainder with water.

Spray and wipe clean. For tough messes, let it sit for a few minutes then wipe. Repeat if necessary (it rarely is…). For severely burnt-on cooking pans or toilet bowls, I just pour in a little bit of cleaner straight from the bottle and add water (for pans, not toilet! LOL!), then let it sit for a few minutes. The only single time I have had to scrub with this cleaner was at my in-laws when I stumbled on a pan that my Father-In-Law had been cooking bologna and forgotten about it until the fire alarm reminded him. The burned bologna had been sitting there waiting for him to find a way to sandblast it off for about 2 months. I did have to scrub that. Twice. I did, however, get it cleaned. With this cleaner concentrate, not a sandblaster. Needless to say, my Father-In-Law was an immediate believer in this cleaner and has been asking me for more ever since!

Since this product does have citrus essential oils in it (Wild Orange), I always use an amber colored glass bottle whenever possible. Click here to see the bottles that I use and click here to see the cleaner concentrate for yourself. I know you will love this cleaner as much as I do. I literally have nothing bad to say about it, and that s surprising for me… I am very picky about my cleaners! It has made my cleaning routine much faster, easier and less tiring. Now, I may just need to get some wrist weights to work out my arm muscles now that I don’t have to scrub when I clean anymore! So, go get it. You’ll love yourself for it! Happy cleaning!
